Emoji Meaning

A zebra, a horse-like mammal with black-and-white stripes. Variously depicted in full profile on all fours facing left or as a zebra head facing left with a short mane.

Not to be confused with 🐎 Horse. Some vendors implement a similar face as their 🐴 Horse Face.

Apple, WhatsApp, and Facebook’s designs feature the full animal; Google, Microsoft, and Samsung’s designs feature a head with a short mane and black muzzle. Facebook’s design previously featured only a zebra head.

Zebra was approved as part of Unicode 10.0 in 2017 under the name “Zebra Face” and added to Emoji 5.0 in 2017.
