Emoji Meaning

A Tyrannosaurus rex, a massive, meat-eating dinosaur with huge jaws, tiny arms, and a long tail. Depicted as a green or brown tyrannosaur standing on its hind lefts facing left, often with a textured back, sharp teeth, and clawed toes.

Google’s T-rex used to look somewhat like a velociraptor, though the design has since changed. Samsung’s T-Rex was previously red, Facebook’s only a green head with open jaws.

T-Rex was approved as part of Unicode 10.0 in 2017 and added to Emoji 5.0 in 2017.
