Generally less goofy than 😜 Winking Face With Tongue and less animated than 😝 Squinting Face With Tongue. Google previously featured a more defeated expression and Samsung, a more mocking one.

Because of its stuck-out tongue, note that this smiley may be applied or interpreted in suggestive ways.

Face with Tongue was approved as part of Unicode 6.1 in 2012 under the name “Face with Stuck-Out Tongue” and added to Emoji 1.0 in 2015.
